Illy—Headquarters

2008

Illy

Illy’s Visitor Tour is a corporate building project in which the company’s headquarters serves as a venue for telling the story of the company’s history, geography, and vision.

The Taste Stations are the stops along the tour through the entire Illy facility, guiding visitors through the process of transforming coffee from bean to cup.

The Welcome area tells the company’s story through a 3D representation of the site to be visited, illustrating the stages of the tour; a timeline that tells the company’s history; an infographic explaining the group’s strategy; a wall of extruded letters spelling out the company’s philosophy; the latitudes of coffee through the photographs of Sebastiao Salgado, who captured coffee pickers in the countries of origin; the art wall featuring the names of all the artists who have collaborated with the company.

The Foundation is a building whose windows are covered with halftone images, housing the stages of transformation from flower to roasting and the University of Coffee. The Factory, on the other hand, houses all packaging operations and the quality control laboratory.
